Tom and Chris

Any word on Tom and Chris hunting yet?

Tuesday at our local club meeting.

For those who don't know who Tom & Chris are, they are friends who have headed out from the west to the New England area on 3 week or 4 week detecting jaunts. Last fall, I believe it was, they made a trip to 'OLD' England. They are primarily "Silver Shooters" who use Minelab detectors, for the most part. I know Chris had a Tesoro for some quick work of certain sites.

They would report back on their travels and finds, would meet up with folks local to the New England area, and just enjoy detecting. Presently, Tom live in the Portland, Oregon area and Chris is in or around Livermore, California After selling a business here in Portland, Chis moved to California ad was able to enjoy the luxury of traveling and detecting. I think 'work' has crept back into his vocabulary, so I'm not sure when they will head of again, or for how long. I'll let you now when they do.

Having only been at this hobby for about 4 years, the things that amaze me about reading posts of the Tom & Chris trips are how easy it sounds for them to select hunting sights and gain permission, as well as their terrific finds. I have not found any of those things particularly easy; but worth the effort.

They really seem to have a knack of connecting with people when they find places they would like to hunt. Looking forward to hearing more.
