Toltec II

what's one worth ?, and what do you guys think of them.
I found one at a flee market in really good shape, wanted to make sure I didn't over pay.

Hi pulltab

I saw one go for $265 shipped on another forum, it looked to be a very nice one from the photo's. I have owned the Toltec ll since 1994 when they first came out with one, and I think they are a great detector, I have about 2000 hours on mine. I had a White's XLT too at the time, and the Toltec ll would keep up with the XLT and in certain places where there were lots of rusty nails in the ground, the Toltec ll would out hunt the XLT. The XLT is long gone and I still have the Toltec ll, so you can see, I an a little biased with the Toltec ll !

Randy

PS: The retail price on a new Toltec ll in 1994 was $599, and I got mine for $500, and that was a BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks Randy I picked it up Sunday. looks like it's barely used, stickers still in great, no scratches on the screen. etc

I gave $40 for it.
I thought about sending it to Tesoro to be looked at, but my buddy said he called them about a silver U and was told since he wasn't the original owner he would have to pay to get it fixed. I haven't called myself. not sure that there's anything wrong with it. I will get out and play with it soon.

Hi pulltab

If it works, you got a bargain! It's basically a turn on and go machine, set the threshold, sens. and disc. level and off you go.

Good luck with the ol gal, she's a good one.

Randy

Hey pulltab those Toltec II's are junk, let me do you a favor & give you $41.00 for it and take it off your hands. Just kidding with you buddy, I regret selling the Toltec II I used to have, that analog meter will surprise the crap out of you, they are very accurate. One of my all time favorite detectors. I would love to find another one some day. Let us know how you like it. Steve.

Anytime you can pick up a used, new or older Tesoro for under $100, in working condition, it's a bargain.
