I was able to trade for a very nice Toltec II , when I opened the box and started putting it together, I noticed the lack of a locking collar and it was also a two piece design.
Since this was my first older Tesoro unit to own, I wasn't thinking about the pole assembly being different from the the three piece design w/ locking collars that I'm so used to.
So, since I had a couple of extra three piece assemblies, I converted the Toltec II over to the three piece setup, using one spring clip from an old extension piece, take a long screwdriver and push it down into the middle pole where it will be in the hole just under the spring clip that attaches it to the handle assembly. This will allow the control housing that mounts under the pole to be attached. then just add the meter box and you've got the unit converted over to the newer three piece design. Some may have already done this but I just wanted to share in case some weren't aware that it was an easy swap.... You do have to have some extra pole assemblies though.
