TolTec II or Cortes

Have a TolTecII and know where I can get a Cortes Reasonably Priced I know what my toltec can do and it is a killer on coins in trashy areas and also have my eye on another toltecII as well as a Cortes My question is I have been reading and reading on field tests on the cortes and there are pros and cons like the screen size which is a major factor for me since I have to have glasses to read but not see far off but then again I am a beep and dig person and mainly listen to tones and with my shadow as well as my toltec II I can pretty much determine if I want to dig the target by the tone also I have owned a Deleon before and it was good detector but never owned a Cortes which is apparently a better detector than the deleon I assume . also the weight difference is a factor as well but that is something I can deal with with on the toltec cause I can hip mount or mount under the arm cuff the cortes only weighes about three pounds so no big deal

Not trying to be difficult, but if you are a beep and dig guy, get a Golden instead. The tones on the golden are active as you search, while the Cortes's SUM audio is a momentary toggle.

You have lost control, might as well get both the TT and the Cortes and be done with it. Doesn't hurt to have two of something....... oh, you know that already. LOL
I'm still looking for a spare coil if you spot one, brown donut concentric or widescan. My Bandido has to share one with my Cutlass.

Thanks I am a Tesoro beep and Dig by tone Guy but I have also read good and bad on the golden as for as depth and appreciate your comment on it as well but the golden is not what I am looking for Like I said I Love the TolTec II I have because I know what it is telling me Like the Tejon owners know what they are telling them I guess what I am asking is if you are A True Tesoro Person and the opportunity came up for another Toltec II which you know what they are capable of verses a Newer designed Cortes what would you buy Keeping in MInd I can get the Cortes for less Than $400.00 and in Excellant condition and the Toltec II is in Excellant Condition as well and usually go for a Max of $300.00 Usually

Sven If I decide on the other TolTec II I will make a deal with you will contact you Wednesday about it

You really only need one detector for dirt fishing. Show some control. Get a grip.

...........and several backup detectors.:)

When you are thinking about a rack for the vehicle, you've reached a comfortable level of detector saturation.

I bet they were I have a ToltecII which has the meter liker in the umax control head It is one awesome machine but I think I would like to try this cortes since I am getting it for $350.00 and it is in Mint Condition also have a Shadow X2 so got all I need do have a Garrett 150 but want to s sell it and get a Compadre

I would hoop on that Cortes if I were you as that is a steal at that price! I also have a Troy X-5 and it is a awesome detector!

The screen could be bigger on the cortes. But for the most part I can see it just fine.I use my Cortes as a single tone beep and dig most of the time. The sum mode and numbers are pretty good down to 6-7 inches top's.The Cortes will go deep on coins if you work it slow.I couldn't tell you much about the Toltec as I've never had one.But I do like my Cortes. And feel it is Tesoro's sleeper!
