Welcome dirtmanxx,

Yep, I got one, what do you want to know? You will have to read up on the manual, get some batteries in the 'ol Toltec and just try it out. That's the way I found out about it, then I can get an idea on what you are up against. You will have to understand how to properly adjust manual ground balance first, have you messed around with ground balanced detectors before? It is not hard to do, just do what the manual says. If you do not have a manual, just go to the Tesoro website and download it or call them and they will send you one. Good luck with the old gal, she still can dance with the best of them.

THANKS! for the welcome Hombre!

I do know how to ground balance detectors!

I have many you could say vintage machines

and a fisher 1236x2 plus a nautilus dmc 2 that

hasnt even been turned on!

THANKS for the offer on helping me!

I guess the only thing i dont know about would

be the NOTCH control, never had a machine with that feature!!!

THANKS! again! Good Hunting!!

Howdy, dirtmanxx

...The vintage Tesoro analog detectors are my favorite subjects....I never use the notch feature on the Toltec 100 or Pantera (looses depth). I just reference the audio and meter if cherry picking in an occupied house yard. One tip I have is to mark the tuner dial (threshold) with a small piece of tape where the threshold hum is at 'just' audible. That way you can ground balance the Toltec and go to Disc. mode to hunt, then you turn up the threshold (tuner) to super tune it as it gets better depth in Disc. mode that way. Later, when you when you want to pinpoint in all metal, just turn "tuning" dial back to the tape mark on tuner dial, easier on the ears that way.
