Tokens this week with X-70

What a great holiday weekend! Lisa and I have been working a site that has given up several nice coins, buttons, and bottles. Today we also got permission to hunt a small yard (maybe dimensions of 10X15 feet) of a turn of the century house. The last 3 outings have netted me a token per day. Lisa got her first seated coin, an 1853 quarter that's posted over on the Teknetics forum. I love the old trade tokens and couldn't be happier!

Thanks and hope everyone had a great 4th!

Congrats to both you and Lisa on your nice finds. I also have a fondness for the old tokens. The old Palmolive stuff is OK. But I really like tokens from small stores in the immediate area. Sometimes I'll find one of a store with the same name as one of the "old people" I remember from when I was a kid, and the memories come pouring in. Excellent stuff!
As to Lisa's quarter, that year quarter is special for me as well. I still remember digging my first Seated Quarter, many years ago. It was in the preachers yard, next door to an old country church. It stands out as one of my favorite finds because it was an 1853, 100 years older than me! I remember just sitting in the truck, staring at the arrows and the rays. Love those Seated Ladies!

Congrats again on some nice finds. HH Randy

WTG!! That would have really made my day. Old tokens are among my favorite detecting finds. Brings history to life, doesn't it??
Good luck and HH. Hope you find many more. Bob.
