tokens & tags......

Pouring down rain here for the last few days (we REALLY need it) so I've been sidelined. Decided to clean out my over flowing treasure chest of some of the crap. I've always pretty much been a coin shooter but lately I've taken an interest in the tokens, tags, etc. so I set these aside for some pics. Kinda kicking myself because I've given many tokens away over the years and really wished I hadn't done that.... I looked some of these up on the tokencatalogdotcom site and a few aren't listed but the VW Kair one might be a rare one? There was some reference to one on that auction site in 2011 for $250, not sure if that's what they were asking or if it actually sold for that? Got some more RR baggage tags and neat other stuff I'll try and post tomorrow maybe..........

Nice! Love the tokens plus the history they tell.

I have a couple of the same ones you do. I love tokens--always a story behind each one.

You got some real beautys there...very cool collecting niche as the mintage on some those was probably very low..

Hello oneguy!!

saw your picture of the bunch of tokens. I have been collecting tokens (and post cards, post marks, DAV tags, dog (tax) tags, matchbooks, ashtrays, bottles, souvenir china, license plates, etc.) for about 40 years. Yes you do have a good one in the East Hope, but it is getting slightly more common. Yes, there probably sold for about $250. In fact I have one extra right now and would have a couple fellow collectors interested if I got around to letting them know. Also do trading with them. Couple of the mavericks (tokens with either no state or no state/town given on them) might have above average value for mavericks. Would have to do more research on them and would like individual picture of both obverse & reverse on those. You can contact me direct at idahofritz@aol.com or 208-819-3680 anytime and would give you any info I can and would appreciate hearing from you. You also mentioned RR tags which of course is another whole area of collecting and might be able to help with info/value on those. Mike Fritz

Thanks for the comments and info Mr Fritz...........

any chance of pictures of the mavericks? any other tokens you've found over the years? Would love to research.
Thanks. Mike

I know Mike, he's a great guy. Has a bit of an addiction for tokens, but that's what makes him interesting.
