Tokens, Silver & Jewelery

I haven't been getting out as much as I'd like to lately, but have still managed to eek out a few hunts using both my Omega, F75 LTD and CZ70 (at the beach).

No spectacular finds, but I managed a few fun and unexpected finds.

I added another silver Washington to this years take, as well as my first holed Barber dime. At the same place I got the holed Barber I also got a 1923 buffalo, 1942 merc, and a handful of teens Wheatbacks as well as a what's it? It came from the same depth as the Barber dime (about 8") and it's marked "NewEra". The middle looks to be nickel or silver plated, and it's hollow in the center. It's about 1.5" in length. Any ideas?

At another spot I hunted around Napa that supposedly dates to the 1850's, I found two silver coins that I initially thought were Mexican coins, but they turned out to be French 50 centimes (1/2 of a Franc) and both are dated 1918. They were both more or less in the same hole, and black as night when I dug them. Their slightly larger than a U.S. dime.

I did an early AM beach hunt with Jim (time4me) and we both found silver jewelery, including this .925 silver rose ring, but the yellow stuff has remained allusive at this particular beach thus far :poke:

At GGP I managed to find three tokens at various spots, three foreign coins, and a mutilated lawn mower merc dime at 8" in Big Rec. First is a small Market Street Railway Company token, which according to Richard's Token Database is c. 1930s to 1944. Here's an image from their site:

Then a SF trolley token's in great shape, and a token I haven't been able to find anything out about. Initially I thought it was a foreign coin, but when I got it home and cleaned it up, it say's "H. INTEMANN 1901 GEARY ST. GOOD FOR 5C IN TRADE". Anyone got anything on this token?

Wow!! Brian those are some great finds. You are sure digging up some lost history there. The silver plated piece I have seen before but just can't remember? Sorry. I have set my mind into get data mode. This may take awhile? Thanks for sharing and Happy Trails.....Z

Good going Brian....thanks for sharing ....hh......Dan

Thanks everyone

BTW I found out that that "NewEra" thingy is actually from a Victorian era parasol.

Also one of the teens wheaties I found was right next to a big rusty nail or bolt. When detecting it I could hear that there was a good sound in the hole, but also the iron grunting. Dug and pulled out a large rusted up nail, rescanned the hole and the wheatie screamed. This was with the Omega (that machine is awesome in iron with the 11" DD!).

HH,
Brian
