Tokens from Monopoly game

MrGee

New member
A couple of months ago I posted pics of three of these tokens that I had found in tot lots. At that time I had a race car, a connon and a thimble. Well, I found two more yesterday in yet another tot lot. Now have 5 fo the 12 that was originally in the game.

Maybe you can find the dice and the game. HAA. What a stroke of luck. Saw a guy on TV with solid gold Monopoly pieces. What a jolt if you could dig some of those up.

Makes ya wonder if someone just LEFT the game sitting there??

Myabe the rest of the pieces are close by

Sounds to me more like kids getting into the game and taking the pieces out to play with .....They brought them along to the tot lot, and left them there .....Jim

Was there really 12 original game pieces? The only ones I can think of that you don't have are the iron and the top hat.

If you Google Monopoly game pieces, there is a picture that shows 12 of them. I remember having one of those games as a kid and I only remembered about 5, but they definately show 12. As far as being old, until probably someime in the 60's they had the metal figures. then they switched to plain plastic tokens. There have been several special editions - anniversarys, etc that had the original metal ones, so hard to say how old they might be.
