Found this half dollar size token recently but dont know anything about it.....Ideas???

thanks!

Here's an example of the ones I have found. This one came from the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum in San Antonio. They had a machine that you dropped money in and you could have this aluminum token stamped with whatever text you could fit on it. I have some dated in the 1940s, but I don't know how long before that the machines were around.

Floyd,

You always have good info! That would make sense as mine appears to have mis spelling in the name....I think you got the answer! Kinda like those machines that will flatten out a penny and put some design on one or both sides....Makes sense! Thanks!

Yeah...something is ammis with yours, as google Earth does not like that address in Russell Alabama

HH,

maybe its not that...maybe its Russ....something or......Russell....with a last name ALM or.....who knows???

Folks used to create those medals at amusement parks and fairs. The two that I had found also had spelling errors.
Looks like it may read "Russell Alm of 2740 Tanglewood Dr". I tried one of those people search tools, but didn't see a match in your state of Oregon. I saw a few possible matches in Ca & Mt. GL

Thanks...I will try to do some research on it.....I found this near a 1926 buffalo nickel and other old stuff....so I going to guess its been in the ground for along time.

These tokens were all from amusement park machines. You could have the machine put what you want on one side. The machines were still around in the 60's I was told.
