Today's words of wisdom......

If you ever take a chain saw up a 32 ft ladder you ARE AN IDIOT! :nono: Trust me on this one! I guess maybe I should have gone diggin instead!

snorkel truck..... bucket saw ;)

But next time, try one of these if you can let the limb free fall:

I have used them before, a little bit of a pain in the A$$, but a great upper body workout to get buffed up for those "relic hunts".

I generally will use a small crossbow to send some nylon masonary or heavy test fishing line up over the limb first. The bean bag is useless.

The crossbow can also come in handy when you find interlopers hunting your favorite old coin patch. If they're wearing headphones, they never hear the bolt coming.

In particular, you should see the sparks and smoke that comes out of those old White's machines.

PS. And will we be seeing this adventure on AFV? Tom Bergeron the host, is from my area, I'll put in a good word for you.

Well not bad enough for AFV. I had 2 trees about 75 feet tall and about 60 feet from the house. If they fell in any direction the would be major damage$. So I had to take them down in sections. I have a problem with ladders to begin with! As the tree started to fall, it started to split down the side of the tree. Of course, the tree kicked the snot out of the ladder and the chain saw modified the ladder from it's original form. As a matter of fact, the aluminum ladder did a number on the chain saw too! I guess Saturday you could say I became a bonafide tree hugger. The good news is, both trees are on the ground, and I still have all my apendages.

I was making one of the Vonage commercials. You know the ones....."people do stupid stuff" I thought I actually heard music playing. Woo hoo, Woo hoo hoo - Woo hoo, Woo hoo hoo........you know the song...

Don't worry Tony. Those are the things LEGENDS are made up of. Hopefully you had some witnesses that can ensure the moment will gain imortality. :smoke:

You just proved that my fear is justified! The next time my wife wants me to clean out the gutters, I'm gonna use this story to talk her out of it. (Then again, I have a pretty good life insurance policy, so it may backfire on me) :)

Glad you you came through without any major injuries!
