Met up with Tony today in hope of finding some more relics. After a couple of hours with just a few shot bullets in our pouch I was going to another field and hit a deep big iron signal. After 3 feet down I exposed half of a cannon ball. I called Tony over the raido so we could both be there to witness the find together. After we got it out we covered the hole and started getting big iron signals everywhere. I dug another one real quick and told Tony we would just sit one machine down and take turns digging and spliting them. We got 20 all together and there are still more there. I dont know yet what kind they are but they do have fuses and I beleive they are Confederate. HH!!!

Finding one cannonball anymore is great; finding 20 is outstanding! From our converstion I have to agree, they are Confederate. Can't wait to hear the final tally. Congrats on a super cache of ordinance. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

That you on the left if so I think I met you somewhere in a field. Don`t know for sure though. Congrats on the great finds...HH..Bruce

How in the world did they get 3ft deep? Do you think they were burried, or do cannon balls just work their way down DEEP as time goes by? Great job guys on finding a mother lode!

I think it was the sandy soil that made them sink so far. I dont think they were burried.
