Todays stuff ....

Wow the ground here is so highly mineralized, you get "iffy" signals on stuff that other places they would blast out the headphones.

Dug a couple Confererate Gardners today #3 and 4 from the left ... one still had black powder in the little hole in the end.

Upper right is actually two items ... knapsack hooks joined together as they would when in use on a pack.

Upper center, a large rivet. Fun day but I am so tired from all the walking up and down the hills and digging in the hard HARD soil.

... lunch break. They seem to be having a great time. Butch programmed our walkie talkies to eliminate all the main channel chatter ... we may be using some super secret govt frequency for all I know. Butch told me he could tell me what he did to our radios ... but them he'd have to kill me. I figured, as usual, ignorance is bliss!

This is more of a surface hunt than a hut digging hunt, although some camp trash pits were found. One trash pit digger found 24 canteens and 2 bugles ... and he ain't finished ... they had to run him off cause it was the end of the agreed upon quit time and was dark.

We will try to locate a trash pit tomorrow. That won't be too bad to dig as they are shallow ... not many over 18" to 2' deep so far.

I'm whussing about the weather but really its been nice so far. I'd rather it be cool / cold than hot. I can definitely tell I'm a Florida flat lander when walking the hills.

Some good stuff was found today. We'll get to see it all Sunday when everyone puts out their display of what they dug.

Hopefully we'll have more luck tomorrow. I'd really like to see Butch and Pam find some plates, corp badges, etc. ... us too.
