Well, back to the old park that my buddy and I have been searching since late last fall and the goodies are still coming up.
Today I got 13 more wheat pennies dating from 1916 up to 1951, a 1905 IH cent, and a very nice condition 1939 mercury dime ( except for the small scratch I put on it while digging... OUCH!!).
With todays finds I have found 83 wheat pennies at this site so far and they are still coming out of the ground.
I am amazed at the performance of this Sovereign and see why so many folks will not part with them after they spend some time with them and get to see what they can do.
I believe many of these pennies I am finding are on edge and lying next to nails and other bits of iron which explains why they are still here after all of these years.
Thanks for looking,
Felix
