Todays short hunt at old home

I did a short hunt around an old home just down the road from me today and came up with one silver dime dated 1917, 4 memorial pennies and a clad dime. The silver dime was found just off the right hand side of the brick walkway at the front of the house and was about 4" down..... Opps, I put a slight scratch on it getting it out of the hole, but I can live with that.
Lots of bottle caps that weren't dug on previous hunt, but I did clear a few of them out today.
Last time I hunted here, I found a very corroded large cent, so I was digging more iffy signals than before hoping for an 1800 era coin, but not today.
I did find this one object and need some help on IDing it.
It looks like some kind of buckle and appears to be made of bronze or brass.
Anyone have any ideas on this piece? The house dates back to 1824.
Thanks for looking and any help with ID,
Felix

hi fw! man, that is one likely lookin' house. i think you might have a nice pre victorian period sash buckle there to add to your collection. i remember seeing your post on the old large cent you found there - there's gotta be another there somewhere. nice silver, and a good hunt besides. hit it hard! there's more there somewhere. hh!

Hey GRAY GHOST,
Thanks for the ID!! I thought it looked like some kind of buckle, but wasn't sure.
I was hoping to find another large cent in there, but not this time.
The other one although it has no date left on it does have some detail.
From this I have determined that it is no later than 1807, because it has the 1/100 fraction on the reverse of the coin and this was not present after 1807.
So I'm estimating a date from 1796 -1807.... not much left of the coin.
In the photo, there is a circular brick walkway that goes past the fence into the overgrown area.
After the grass dies down some, I think some goodies are waiting there to be found.
I found the sash buckle in that area under a tree that had some small patches of open ground and was also told that the old road came up around that way too!!
Thanks again,
Felix
