Dusted off my trusty old 1500 and hit it for about three hours today. Forgot what a pleasure it is to hunt with the 1500 and its deadly accurate pinpointing. Last few times out the pickings were mighty slim but I lucked out today. Picked up this dibby dab sans eleven cents. Could have gotten more but it was getting late. Think I'll hunt with the 1500 for awhile and give the 250 a much needed rest. May dust off my 1350 and give it some execise.

Looks good Willy, glad to see the weather is good for hunting for you.

Are you using the 1500 because you would like to give your ACE a rest or are you actually just trying to build up your stamina and endurance by carrying the 1500 around for awhile? Everytime I pick up my friend's ACE after carrying my 1500 w/12.5 the ACE flys out of my hand and ends up in a tree!

THat's part of it, building my muscles back up. :) After a few hours swinging the 1500 one can certainly tell the difference. Actually I enjoy the absolute ease of pinpointing with it. To bad the 250 doesn't have a two-inch receiver in the center of the coil.

Hey Bill,
That's a nice couple of handfuls there, it's quite surprising how the small stuff mounts up given a wee bit of time.

Hey Uncle Willy, could you help me out? I purchased a 1500 last fall, it id's pop cans as coin size until you get down past 6 inches. From 1 to 6 inches it reads coin size, on pop cans, whole can, smashed sideways or smashed standing up. Does this machine really give accurate reading on size? Do you or anybody have any additional opinions. Also once the machine locks on a reading, it stays there what ever it is.
Thanks HH LincolnLeg

Are you centering your target correctly. This is absolutely crucial on imaging coils to obtain accurate readings. Do you observe the signal strength indicator when centering your target ( the cursors all line up across the top).

Have you tried an air test with a can to see what is happening? I have had my 1500 since they first came out and I field tested that model - and I have never had that problem. Which coil do you have, the old model or the current one?

Hey Uncle Willy, I have been letting my GTI 1500 gather dust here lately since getting an Ace 250. I used it a little while yesterday. It kinda has a settling effect on you after using the Ace. One thing though, I have been hunting with some friends using other, more expensive detectors. The little ACE will definitely hunt with the big dogs!
