Hit an older local church dating from the 1800s today, which I'd previously hit with a Sovereign, Musketeer and the Explorer II. Today the T2 went hunting and found some goodies. I found a hot spot out in front of the church, apparently they gathered there, as I started hitting wheaties every few feet. I used sens. 70, disc 10 and 2+ tone mode so I was hearing everything.
The T2 excelled, pulling the goodies from this ground, in which there is still a good amount of iron deep and some junk here and there. One thing I noticed that I figured I'd pass on, the older copper wheats I dug (ranging from 1919 to 1944) read lower on the scale than I'd expected, anywhere from high 70s to low 80s, but generally around a 79, they would bounce a little bit, but generally fall solidly in that range, and sound good enough you would dig them. I had expected them to come in a bit higher. So moral of the story is if you get good sounding hits in the mid 70s to upper 70s, sure some will be junk but dig in the older sites because it could well be goodies.
And I was very impressed with the results the T2 gave me considering that I'd hit that area with the Explorer and passed that stuff by but the T2 sniffed it out.
