Todays rain soaked ground and short hunt

I had a nice hunt planned today, but due to about 2" inches of rain last night and rain today until after lunch, I had to cancel that excursion till another day.
I was thinking about a place I could go nearby that had some inclined areas so I wouldn't be wading through the rain soaked ground and thought about a school just down the road that might get me some finds.
I only hunted about 3 hours, but had pretty good luck and found a nice boy scout token.... this is the second one for me.
I usually can determine quarters from dimes and pennies very well, but something about this ground makes the readings jump around and I'm not sure what I'm over until I dig it up.
My ground balance was set at 14 and sensitivity was around 15.
I was using the stock coil, but have also had the same readings with the 10.5" DD coil.
The ground was also very wet, but on the previous hunts here I had the same results and the ground was dry.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
I was using a vibraprobe 570 and even it was having problems with the ground conditions when pinpointing... it seemed to vibrate no matter where I pointed it,but it did allow me to find the coins as it beeped very strong when near the coin.

Thanks for looking,
Felix

Felix, I like that Boy Scout coin, that is awesome. Imagine if every person in our country performed at least one good deed per day. I use the garrett pro-pointer for a hand held. It doesn't require any tuning, you just turn it on and it does what it's supposed to do, and with a fresh battery, you can find that you will locate objects up to about two inches through the dirt. From my experience, the rain soaked soil conditions add to the conductivity of the probes, So. if you can imagaine what it would be like to throw a toaster in a bath tub full of water....The garrett's pro pointer increases in frequency and intestity to a full continuos beep when you locate your target. I like hunting after a soaking rain for just such reasons, the targets which have eluded you before suddenly come out and holler at you! Thanks for your post Felix.

I like your post. You gave setup and details on the ground you hunted.
