Today's Park Hunt

I hunted the oldest park in town today. While my other hunting partners were busy swinging their coils at light-speed, I took my time swinging the X-8 at a slow pace. While I didn't come home with the most, I came home with the best.
1899 Barber Dime
1912 Barber Quarter
1916D Wheat
1922D Wheat
1936 Wheat
1937 Wheat
1940 Wheat
1942S Wheat

I have the wheats soaking as I'm hoping that 1922D (key date) will clean up to VG or Fine. Here is a couple of pics of the silver.

Getting the best & oldest is the only way to go...I would rather dig a common Merc. or Rosie than twenty dollars in clad...but two Barbers & 6 wheaties is just great!!!

Pulling up "OLD SILVER" that really gets me going. Those you posted are prime examples:cheers:. I have found 2 barber dimes, 1899-1900, but no quarters or halves. Congrats! Happy Hunting Grounds,

Savage (EX-II)

Two silver coins and a bunch of wheats would make my day....
I have found hunting with a fast swinging XLT buddy..he gets his share of silver, but I get the older coins moving slowly...

Just shows what a person can find when they take their time and work an area slow. I take it that your buddies were trying to Cherry Pick for Silver and get the easy signals while you took the time and found the better finds. That's the way to do it, so keep it up. Let them get the newer coins and easier signals and you go for the Barbers, Indians, etc. Hope your finds keep coming and Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
