Today's hunt

I had to stay in the shallow part of the beach today, where all the pull tabs like to wash to, the reason is a short story involving a chain saw, 8 foot ladder, a tree and being in a rush resulting in a finger that should not be in dirty water for a long time I'm afraid.

Lots of junk, 8 coins, part of a cast WWI toy cannon (?) and what is left of a walking cane with a thin brass tip(?)

Also, I was asked to test and report on a new battery for my Mine-lab X-cal, I was told it will last 100 hour per charge and will probably last a life time. My plan is to post my finds and at the bottom of the post to keep a running total of detecting time on each charge. I am open to ideas on what else should be keep track off other than run time per charge.

1st charge ----->2.5 hrs
2nd charge
3rd charge

I keep track of hours out with the Xcal and usually end up putting it on the charger overnight after 2 hunts which tend to total about 10 to 14 hours. I hear those new batts can go 60hrs, so would be interested to know if you get 100....you'll know when the batt is low by the annoying false target signal you will get every minute or two.
I would think you might want to keep track of your finds. I use one of those large desk top calendars on my hobby/work/repair desk and record the beach I was at, hours out, MD I was using and what I found, all which is written down in a simple abbreviated form. GL

Chain saws and 8 foot ladders are a bad combo.

You aren't kidding. Darn near killed myself while using that combo. Lucky for me, the ladder absorbed the brunt of the blow. Ended up scrapping the ladder.
