Today's Hunt

Todays hunt with the ATpro in a farm field in western Sussex. A '46 Rosie, 3 Wheats a nice flat button and a couple buckles. Found the Memorial at an old home site on the way home. I believe the small shoe buckle is pretty old. The site dates back to the 1800's. My buddy's found some Indians and a slick Half Penny.

Nice hunt, Surfman. Glad to see that you're still at it. I like the old buckles, too.

You had some good finds. My detecting trip Saturday was only 2 hours and I had a problem with my At/Pro like it did when I got water in the battery compartment before, but could see no moisture this time. Tried everything, coil, batteries, head phones, etc but it wouldn't work and reset didn't work either. I found 6 cents and this little ear ring about 4-5 inches down and wouldn't have recovered it without the 1/4 inch hardware cloth I modified my scoop with. Found lots of fired 22 rounds and casings. No marks on this small piece and haven't tested it. I wanted to go to the national money show in Atlanta, but got up feeling tired and lazy and didn't make the trip. Glad I got to go dirt fishing and hope when I put the batteries back in my At/Pro it works. It was falsing like crazy. HH.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with it. The stock coil started acting up on mine the other day. Intermittently falsing but still useable. If I wiggle the coil wire going into the coil it would sound off. I called Garrett the other day and they're sending out a new one. Should get it any day now. Good luck with yours, I hope it works out. Joe

Thanks guys, I just wish this weather would straighten out. I'm sick of the cold and snow. Normally I like it but this is just to much. At least it should cut down on the ticks and chiggers. I hope anyway.
