Today's Hunt

Critterhunter

New member
First signal was a pull tab signal. Wasn't planning on digging it because I was old coin hunting but looked down and saw a neckless laying on the ground! Heart stopped for a moment, but it's junk jewlery. Oh well. Dug about 4 wheats in the 5 to 7" range. One wheat gave me a good and easy coin signal one way but was a total null the rest of the way around it. But, I knew it had to be a coin because the good signal in the one spot was just too perfect and easy of a classic coin hit. None of that ghostly coin signal stuff that iron can sometimes give you. No silver today but at least I walked away with the wheats.

That sounds kool CCH .Sounds like you had a great day doing what we enjoy best.

it's been my experience that wherever I find wheaties I always manage to find a couple of silvers....Good luck. HH

Actually a pretty lame hunt, but I figured I'd post it anyway because Ron said he wants to hear more about hunts even if people are posting clad pictures and such. 4 wheats or so was what I consider bare minimum worthy to post I guess.

a whole lot better than my hunt yesterday afternoon...just new stuff but at first I had high hopes...good signals and coins were fairly deep but all were in the 70`s, 3 dimes and 1 quarter...after 7 new pennies I just got discouraged and went home..lol.. I just kept thinking as many coins as there were in the yard I would at least get a wheatie but no such luck...although I did get an 1897 v-nickel the other night at the house across the street along with some more new stuff...I just can`t figure why all the new coins have been so deep...nothing less than 4"

Ron and Critterhunter are right. We should all share more finds and pics here on this forum. I need this forum for motivation as well as information. We should show each other what we are finding- sounds fun. Good luck to everyone and HH. Matt

Also...I think Im going to start taking my camera with me when I hunt. I often see or find interesting things I could share. Pics rule. HH. Matt

Yea, I'd like to hear more stories of hunts, see pictures of sites, and of course see pictures of any finds people make. Even odd items if not coins.
