we hunted two huge old turn of the century homes in a small town this afternoon. my buddy dug his first coin soon as he turned his detector on right by the car.....a 1887 indian head penny in the grass strip along the street. we searched the front yard of the first house finding a few wheaties and the usual junk. really surprised we didn't find any silver in this yard. we moved next door to the other house and started finding wheaties along the grass strip by the street. i started working a pattern in the front yard area and had this nice solid hit and popped out the 1907 0 barber quarter from about 5 inches. about a foot away i found four old wheaties in the same hole dating in the teens and early 20's. next target was a sterling thimble slightly crushed. also found a 1905 indian head penny in the front yard. these houses set on a brick paved street and both sides of the street has big old victorian homes. we will definately go back and try to get permission to hunt some of these old homes. maybe the next house will be the one loaded with silver coins.......
good hunting..........roger
