today's hunt

went to a small town about 10 miles north today and checked out an elementary school playground. found a silver necklace which is stamped .925 Italy. it is a rope chain and is in excellent shape. also found 53 coins for $4.22. found one Sacajawea dollar. also found this round ball. i could use some help in identifying it. it was found in a town that has civil war history. i have never found a musket ball. and this doesn't look like most of the ones i have seen on forums. any help would be greatly appreciated. it may be lead as it is pretty heavy. it is kind of chewed up, found it in wood chips, may have went through a shredder, i don't know. have not been able to hunt for quite a while because of work. it sure is nice to get back out.

nice finds  if the ball was found in the bark it"s probably a sinker ( you"d be surprised at how many i find in tot lots ) but if it was found in the dirt under the bark it could be a musket ball.

Nice hunt!:thumbup:Congrats on the silver!:beers:WTG! Glad to see that you were able to get out swingin'!:biggrin:Good luck identifying that whatzit. Did you try the whatzit forum? Happy Hunting!:)
