Today's hunt.

Checked out an old park that I have been wanting to try for some time now. It's most prominent features are a huge old banyan tree and a small round lake. In fact that is the name of the park-Round Lake Park. The tree is just the place for people to gather or kids to play around. In addition to the usual amount of trash I found $1.13 in clad including a Panamanian cent. One penny is so corroded I can't make out any of the details. Anyway I am trying the olive oil trick to see if they will clean up a little. Even if it is only clad I figure it's good practice. This is the best haul in a single day I've had so far and I have not even made it all the way around the tree yet let alone into any other place in the park.
for me this would be considered a good day.:detecting:

Nice you got out and had a good hunt!
If the lake has anything resembling a beach or play area ...
Good luck on your next outing!

Sounds like a good hunt.

That is a nice place, under a tree.

Tha roots may be a little problem, but

big trees are nice places ta be.

Guess that's why thar's usually some finds

thar.

Thanks for sharin,

Tabdog

Yes, Tabdog, since you mentioned it, the roots are a problem. As a subject that I have brought up and asked about before, I seemed to be getting signals directly in the path of roots. On one in particular, as farfetched as it sounds, I actually followed the signal directly up the exposed root to the trunk of the tree. For me this seems to confirm the theory of minerlization in roots causing false signals. But I am going to go back anyway and finish out that tree and not let it finish me.

Hay Tseeker,

That is tha aditude ta have.

I hear people complain about stuff

that just takes determination to learn

tha answer.

It may be just a matter of learnin that

tree root problem. Like bear cans, big

iron and hot rocks. If thay are thar, then

we must deal with them or give up.

If that site has promise, I hate ta give up.

Some thangs can be said. But without

experience, it may not sink in.

I found a lot of stuff simply because I didn't

give up. That includes most of my good finds.

It's tha hunt that matters. Finds are just things

we get in tha process.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog
