hello, all. olddigger and i went on a hunt today on a friend's land near the battle of hanover courthouse. we've been there several times, but the area is still producing nice finds. aside from the pic, there's the large handful of brass and other whatzits we always find. here goes:
a flattened and curled piece of lead; a spencer shell casing; a parasol piece; a brass whatzit. next line, three nice buttons i found. next line, a 1913p cent, and i believe an 1813 large cent [ i'll clean it up more and make sure] and a harness ring. next, the end of a bayonet scabbard, and a shot mystery bullet [ might be a sharps.] on the bottom row, several distorted bullet pieces and lead melt. it was a good hunt, nonetheless. olddigger found some cool stuff too. through pure deduction and what we've found in the past, putting two and two together,a hot little skirmish occurred here.
we wanted to branch out a bit and spread our hunt out, but the next door neighbor wasn't home to ask. oh well, maybe next time. we did recieve some more hot tips from the landowner on good spots to try out nearby. next weekend sounds good! thanks for reading, and hh,
