Todays Hunt In The Woods :thumbup:

Well nothing too great today,..,, But i did get silver I started about lunchtime today in the spot where i pulled the SLQ yesterday,,, In a bout 40 minutes i had no coins,, and almost frost bite... I FROZE,,, A little later my buddie Tim met me at the park,,, We decided to go in the woods where i pulled the Seated Dime and Silver Washington... And these are my finds.... Not much for about 3 hours of hunting and loosing my digging knife twice lol But anyway with silver is a good day!!!! I got a 1928 D Merc two Buffalo's n both 1927,, and two Indian's 1997 and a 1998.. I am still liking the SEF coil,,, Both the Indian's were in with junk,,, and they still sounded clear... And one of the Buffalo's, My buddie Tim ran his DFX with the D2 coil across it and told me it was junk,,, really broken signal,,, It sounded perfect on mine ,, just hit a little lower in the screen... but sounded great... I'm only 30 miles north of you and the ground is hard as a rock! Congratulations on some good finds. Getting anything out of the ground this time of year is great. A buddy of mine and I tried digging with a hand pick once in January and decided it was too much like work. After spending several minutes trying to hack out a coin about 4in deep we chose to go to a nice warm pie shop and talk about detecting.LOL

Hey Phil...
Out in the woods with good leaf cover on the ground,,, it is only frozen down about a inch,,,, and you usually break through that kicking the leaves back... And some areas are frozen solid out in the open... but when it snowed last time over in Richmond... the ground wasnt frozen so the snow kind of made a blanket,.., so the ground is just a lil crusty underneath... The SLQ i had to hammer my knife in the ground and work it around lol But thanks bud!!!!! We will have to get out and hunt when the weather is a little better!!!!!

Darrelld, are you near Richmond? When im home im in Fortville, IN. Ive just started hunting some of the parks and hopeing to hunt with Brian Scofield in the spring. I hadnt hunted too much before we ran down here to Florida. Before i left i got in a few hunts and got some nice silver. Im looking forward to the spring. You ever hunt in Knightstown area? It looked promissing.

Hey Dewcon... Yeah i live Richmond!!!! I'm not sure where Fortville is??? Its funny that you asked about Knightstown lol My father just was talking about it today and telling me that there is a school that dates back in the 1800's i was planning on making a trip down!!!! talk to you later bud!!!
