My buddy Chris and I went to an old spot that historically doesn't give up hugh coin numbers, but the chance for some oldies is pretty good. My 44 Mercury came early in the hunt so the silver monkey was off my back. Chris got a 26 Merc near the end along with some wheats and a couple of buttons. As fate would have it, that was my only silver. Did get an 1898 I H along with 8 wheat cents. 18, 19, 19, 20, 37, 44, and 2 toasted, were the wheat cent dates. The round thing I am guessing may have been a watch. It gave an 89-90 reading and I knew I had a silver quarter. It was reading 8" and it was exactly 9. Nice day here for a hunt. Low 50's when we ended. HH jim tn
