phew! yeah, it did get right warm today, so i opted to field hunt, trying to stay out the woods 'cause the ticks are so bad this year. even off! ain't doing much to repel them. i hit a three acre farm field with an old sharecropper's cabin on it near dinwiddie court house, va. a couple of the pieces i found last weekend at another site [ the half hunt; my pardner got sick and we had to leave real early] are on here too. a couple of nice flatbuttons are here, as well as a .44 colt round, a really nice enfield, a few low base sharps, a merrill carbine or two, a spencer casing end, a couple of spencers, a 1940 and a 1951 cent, and what i think might be some old rosettes. front and back pics are there. the plain one was found near an old stable, and is probably civilian. the other two with the swirl motif were found in the same field along with the rest of the relics, and theyr'e probably civilian too. i forgot to put on a small crimped piece of brass with an anchor on it, and left out the camp lead and several other pieces.
all in all, it was a good hunt and a half, even though i didn't have my usual pardner olddigger with me today. he just got a new f70 too, so i really gotta watch him now! i'll hit it again next weekend! thanks for looking, and hh!
