Today's First Two Targets

RLOH

Well-known member
I had a nice day today to detect so I went to a spot that is the worst iron infested place I hunt. I have found at least a dozen Indian Heads in a 40 by 30 foot area so that is where I started. I had not gone 5 feet when I got a weak high tone mixed in with iron grunts. I checked it with iron audio on and it was still there in the mix. After digging the plug, I found a large rusty nail at about 5 inches. I stuck my Pro Pointer in and found an old pull tab, the kind with the round pull and tab as one. I have always been amazed at the AT Pro's ability to see a good target through the junk, so I knew not to cover the hole. I rechecked the hole and found a 1900 Indian Head at about 8 inches! Within ten feet of this find, I got a similar signal. First thing out of the hole was another rusty nail. In goes the Pro Pointer and out comes a 1919 wheat penny from 7 inches. If you have an old spot to hunt, purposely look for the spots that are loaded with iron. This detector is unlike any detector I have used for these types of places. I use to avoid these places. Now I get excited to find them. This is one FUN detector. R.L.
