TODAYS FINDS

Took my Tejon back to the old picnic grove today. Not a lot of finds but did score a 1917 d mercury dime
and a chain that I thought might be gold until I got it cleaned up. It's junk...........:rage: I enjoyed the great weather
and the time hunting with my buddy, so it wasn't a bad day after all.... Loving this Tejon more each time I use it, and will recommend
it to anyone who is trying to decide between the Vaquero and the Tejon..... the V is a great detector but the Tejon is just awesome......HH...

time spent with your hunting buddy. I know that my best hunting buddies make my outings more rewarding than the finds, although some better recoveries might be a really close 2nd.

I've had three Tejons and four Vaqueros, and if I had to pick between the two, I would prefer Tejon as well. I like the variable Tone control or option for VCO audio.

I hope you old picnic grove continues to produce or you.

Hey Joe, it looks like that Tejon will find silver! How deep were that dime?

Great finds, Thanks for sharing!

mojotrout, That merc was between 7 and 8 inches deep. I was running disc 1 at foil and disc 2 right above pulltab
and soon as I heard the signal I knew it was silver.....just that sweet mellow sound and it sounded as good in disc 2.

I was using Killer B's headphones with the volume turned up listening for deep coins and this dime was no problem at all to hear.
It was a good repeatable signal, and I would guess the Tejon would have found it another 2 to 3 inches deeper also, maybe more depending on the operator's skill level
and the headphones he was using. I'm not kidding when I say this picnic grove has been pounded hard with some great detectors known for getting excellent depth...1266, CZ's
and my Vaquero. for over 25 years and my Tejon is finding coins the others couldn't find. It has made a believer outta me !..........HH.

Monte, You are right, I would have been happy just finding a hand full of square nails today just to enjoy the time spent with a friend detecting. The merc was just the icing on the cake.
Yesterday afternoon my buddy and I invited a friend of my buddies to join us hunting. He had a lower end Bounty Hunter detector that he had for about a year but didn't understand how to use it.
I gave him a crash course and explained the controls and how they worked. He found some clad coins in the park and was as happy as could be. That is what this hobby is really all about I think,
helping someone new in the hobby and seeing the satisfaction of them making their first finds even if it is just clad coins. I made a new friend and hopefully a new hunting partner.... it just doesn't get any better than that.....HH

Joe what coal where you using on the T 8x 9 or somthing else

Did that chain stop your heart for a second? Nice silver... KEN

kaolinwasher, I'm using the stock 9x8 coil. It does a very good job on small targets and gets excellent depth.
