Got back out to the park for a 3 hr hunt, ended the day with $6.58 and 2 keys, this is the first time I've found 2 $1.00 coins and only the 2nd time to ever find any, also came up with a 1924 wheat which is kinda strange since the park wasn't built until the late 70's, ahh well I'll take a find like that wherever I can get it. HH Jimmie

Man that's a lot of clad! WTG
Strange to find a wheatback in a newer park?
Not at all. I see wheat's almost everyday in the
cash drawers a work. Zillions are still in
circulation and are still being lost to this day.

I found these yesterday and wonder if this is a piece of gold. it is two tone color silver/gold. I have a gold test kit on the way and since I am brand new to detecting I am pretty excited to find it! I also found the 2007P Thomas Jefferson! Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you're doing good my friend...

As far as I know it was just a cotton/soy bean field, I'll have to see if I can find some older maps to double check tho. Jimmie

In the 70's people still carried, spent and lost wheat pennies and mercury dimes.

I haven't found my first wheat penny or mercury dime yet. I should have kept all those damn wheat pennies and mercury dimes that I had in my pocket in the 70's.

Which detector got all that for you and how was it set up?

I was using the Cibola with the stock coil, threshold and disc at max, sens was into the orange, the area I was hunting was super trashy I was really surprised at how well I was doing with the stock coil, I might go back with the 5.75 and see if I can eek a few more finds from in amongst all the trash.
