We might not have gotten the snow but Man, was it cold. With the wind blowing today the wind chill factor was around 20. Before turning completely numb I did manage to dig up some keepers. Here's the best of for the day.

In the middle it says Fort Monroe and it is surrounded with the outline of the fort. Any ideas?

the fort dates to the early 1820s, with the Artillery School created in 1824. However, the fort was known as "Fortress" Monroe until the early 1900s, so any reference to "Fort" Monroe would point to the 20th century. I live and hunt in the area, and actually work at Fort Monroe, but have never seen a medallion or pendant like this one. Nice find Stan!!</STRONG>

It was started in 1819--- There should be some good stuff to be found there as Fort Algernourne was the first fort built on Point Comfort in 1609.
