Todays finds include 1 fired and 1 dropped .69 cal. round balls, various lead, unknown iron relics, a flat button (Waterloo Rich Orange Backmark) and a small rosette. Can anyone Id this odd iron relic?

Some nice finds you have there Scott, wish I could help you on ID'ing that large iron object. Only thing I could think of, it might of been used to melt lead above a fire but it doesn't have lip to pour the hot lead, so I really don't know what it went to. Nice find though. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
