Todays finds

I have not posted for awhile as I have been steelhead fishing and when I got back home my wife had so many honey do's I haven't had much of a chance to get out for a hunt, but today was the day. I put my 6" DD Excelerator coil on and off I went. I picked up the usual clad including a gold dollar, a childs charm, key, car, stainless ring, and a cub scout scarf slide. I also dug the usual trash along with a piece of metal that I thought was just a piece of copper metal maybe from the copper roof on the church yard I was hunting. It was down about 8 inches or more. When I got home I bent it out alittle and noticed some writting on it. It had the name Clarence Obrien, registered patent attorney. I did a google search and found that what I had was a 1930's copper letter opener that Obrien used to advertise. I saw one on Ebay going for $15.00 in perfect shape. This letter opener is not worth anything, but it was still was a cool find. It feels good to be back on the forum. Thanks for looking. HH Dennis in Idaho

Good to see ya back Dennis, nice finds:thumbup:

Those were the good old days, when businesses, even attorney's, gave away real promos. Now all you get is a newsletter, hustling you for more business.

Welcome back Dennis. That's neat about the letter opener. I would have thought the same thing as you did about it being roofing copper. It's nice to see writing on items and read a bit of history. You've got a nice display of items there. :clapping: The weather here hasn't been good for any detecting. Not even playgrounds. We're glad someone was able to get out. Thanks for the post! HH to all, Nancy

Good to see you back Dennis. Rob
