Todays finds

Well I got out to a sports field today to see how my new 10" Excelerator would pin point and ID targets. The field is a modern field probably no more than 15 to twenty years old. It is a good field for clad and has produced 2 gold rings this year.

I found that pin pointing is very easy. The coins were in the hole every time . I didn

Hey Rob, I'm happy the 10" is working out for you. Let us know when you find that older site and let us see how you did. HH Dennis in Idaho

Was waiting to see how you did.I been thinking about that coil for a while .Waiting to see how you do in depth and stuff at a different site older site i hope with deeper coins. What is the gnd reading were you go.Does it seem noisy how does it handle mineral soil and how does it compare to mxt stock 9 inch coil .Thanks

What is the gnd reading were you go? The ground reading really doesn't tell how bad the minerals are in the ground. On a scale of 0 to 12 with 0 being the worst my soil is a 5. This is moderate soil.

Does it seem noisy how does it handle mineral soil and how does it compare to mxt stock 9 inch coil ? On a test I did on a buried coin I got about 1" more depth then the 9.5 and about 2" more than the 6x10. These depths are about the same as Larry and Monte have quoted. Actually the 10" should do even better in depth than the stock coil as the ground gets worse. I would rate the noise as about the same as my 6x10. Really the coil seems match the 6x10 in everything except it is deeper and the depth reading is more accurate. Rob

Rob, That's what I was hoping to hear. I am very intrigued by the pinpointing and depth. Looks like you got quite a workout with all those finds. Good going and thanks for the report. I'll be waiting to hear more about the 10" coil. Sounds like it could be a new favorite for us. Sure wish you were closer and we could show you some "old" properties that could use a good going over. Keep us posted and thanks, Nancy

I forgot to mention I was at the field for only 2 hours. I covered a third of the field. I happen to be running my disc at 3, other times I use 2. When I was in the sideline and bleacher area I was running the sensitivity at 10. When I was out on the open field I was able to open it up to +3. For a field like this a 10 would have been enough but I was seeing how it would react. I tend to run as much sensitivity as I can. I got close to some power lines and it got noisy in C/J mode. I switched to the relic mode with the trigger centered and it was quiet. Rob

Thanks for the report Rob. Can't wait to hear more.
