Went back to the site that I found the 1853 Horse Tack and found another relic of a Horse (not sure of the date) and found a 1907 A phenning and a 1923 G 200 Mark (emergency money during the depression)

Overall I think a good place:biggrin:

Enjoy the pic's and HH_______________________ :detecting:

That Horse and Rider must have been an old Toy made out of Lead. Very Nice find with that one! Nice older Coins also. Don't you just hate those MARK Coins? Are they made out of Aluminum or some other Metal? They sure get ate up from the ground. Too bad they weren't made from Silver. Still good finds though! Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

James,

Thanks :) I think your right about that horse it seems to be lead and it sure felt good when i cleaned some of the dirt off and saw a horse shape.

I know what you mean, the ground really eats them up. Most of the Emergency Money (Marks) for two or three years was made of aluminum. The 200 Mark coin was made of 990 aluminium and 10 Copper.

Hey Steve,

Those are great finds. Those 1920's aluminum MARKs sure don't come out looking very good do they?! I presume you're detecting in Germany? When I was over there a few months back I was lucky enough to have a day to detect a few random fields. I really lucked out cuz these fields had lots of coins and relics dating back to the the 1630 war in the area. Man, those were the only fields I detected and they were great! Are all the fields in Germany like that!?!?!?

Check out this page with my finds for that trip if you want.

Here's a couple of the gems.

Andrew,

WOW !! Great Finds :please::please:

I am detecting down around the Heidelberg area, I found most of the stuff you see in a field on the edge of a little town called Ketsch.

Not all the fields are so good but there are places around Haun Air Base and Trier that I and other people have found several Roman coins dating from 100 to 300 AD, you never know what you will find in the fields one guy here found an axe head from the bronze age, it is absolutely crazy.

Did you find those coins up around Mainz? Let me know when you come back to Germany and well try to add some Roman coins to your collection.

Steve

P.S. will send you a PM
