Slipped out for a few hours with Joe in MD to hit a local camp. After spending the first couple of hours digging trash, we headed over to the hill where we have been finding fired bullets. My take for the day

All but 7 of the bullets came out of a 3'x 2' area
This was the first bullet I dug today. It came off of the hill, has been fired, but has no rings. Weight is 371.9 grains, width is .588", measured above the mushrooming, and length is .731". Any help ID'ing would surely be appreciated
Thanks and hh...

You dug there Mike. I will go through my books but I don't recall anything like it.

It turned out to be a click toy. I'll bring it with me Wednesday night

Mike: Check your books your mystery bullet could be part of a Shaler (maybe top part). Let me know what you think.

I will have to look at the bullets that I pulled out of this particular area again. I will have to hit this area a little harder next time, and see if I can come up with more

help with the bullet, but can give you help with the ego. if there is any silver or nice buttons there , you will find it.HH...........................................ed.

What I see are assymetric knife marks. The bullet appears to have been carved, probably out of a large caliber bullet. If it were rammed and then fired, it would leave distinct "flats" around the circumference. I'll take carved over fired any day. Nice find, David @ Dixie

There was a NY cuff found just below where I found that bullet. That would make sense to me. Gotta hit that area a little harder, and see if I can come up with any more goodies
