Went to a street tear out in a nearby town today...started out slow with a few wheat's and then all of a sudden bam 8/47 solid...really tuff clay and I was thinking pop can until a saw the rim!!! 1907 Barber half! Started going real slow and within 10 minutes I had the Barber dime, Indian and Buffalo (my first). A couple steps more and another high tone...I look down and there sat the Rosie right on the surface. (they had scraped off the top few inches of sod...perfect!!!). Wheat's were popping but the construction equipment was loud...had to crank up the volume and cherry pick the high tones. Got a super loud 12-47 at depth and was thinking another good coin but out comes the "Choktaw Route" baggage tag...way cool and it has to be coolectable? Took me another hour or so to make the dime trifecta but was determined to make my second one this year and she finally showed herself! Packed up and went home but will be there tomorrow as I only hunted one block! To top it off I checked and the Barber dime is a semi key date!!! HH Kim
The Kennedy Half was found walking back to the truck just dragging the Etrac...almost passed that by as a false!
