Todays finds at the beach

Hi. I found two unidentified pieces of metal today at the beach with a Fisher Labs Goldbug DP. Both pieces are about the size of the fingernail of your smallest finger. Both pieces were found with the discrim set at 75, just above the clad pennies. So they should not be iron, steel, aluminum, nickel, etc.
The rust colored piece has so much crudacai on it; I will have to clean it up before any kind of identification is possible. It could be part of an old bottle cap, or part of a coin.
The grey piece is interesting. It is very clean, with no corrosion usually found with deep clads. It is gun metal grey all over, with some gold, bronze or copper color showing through. I'm going to see if I can get that grey patina off, to help ascertain the identity of this piece. At this time I am thinking this might be the core of a clad that has been completely dissolved.
I'll let you know if I can identify these pieces. In the meantime, any guesses? Kev
