I Md'ed an excavation in an old part of town. They were moving a cable for the new road being built.
I got my two cents worth. 1955-D and 1899 IH.

Is it me or does it seem that spoons are the #1 find in flatware. This one is from a fancy hotel that ceased operations many years ago. It says Avon plate on the back. They started making silverware in 1901. I may try restoring it and silver plate it myself.

Nice bunch of old stuff, John. Seems silver was on the plate today! I on the other hand seem to find as many forks as spoons. I found another recently. Harmonica reeds? Oh yeah. And the thinble is nice, too.
