I went to the town park for a few hours and checked around the equipment and around the benches, I found 2 dimes, an nickel, 2 pennies, met a nice guy and got a headache from bumping my head on the equipment when I went to check under it.

dont you hate that? i do that alot to. the kids laugh and think its funny so i laugh with them..hahahahaha not funng ouch...

no it is not funny, one of these times I am going to knock myself out cold, I had to run home to be there for when my girls came home from school, after they came home we went down a few blocks and they played while I detected and I found the coin in the first photo, the other photos are of something I found the other day, it is metal but I don't know what it is.

i know its not funny. i laugh so the kids dont see me getting mad. it happens to everyone who hunts playgrounds i think. that is interesting indeed. the green wants to say its copper. but i have no idea..let us know when you find out. im interesting in knowing...

I took my hammer to it, to see if I could break it to see what it looks like inside, it is hard, I managed to chip a little off the edge (what is in the box), I tested it with a magnet and it did not stick, how else can I test it?

Well, it looks green like copper and where you chipped it looks like copper to me. What if you took a wire wheel to it on a drill. Unless you don't want to harm it anymore!! I don't think it has much value except for scrap metal. Good luck with whatever you decide!

since the chunk is not really worth anything I decided to try to break it or crush it by putting it on a slab of concrete and dropping another slab of concrete on it, it broke the concrete slab instead, that is one tough metal.

"nine poundher!" ..fix anything!

HH,

That's where you leave her right where you found her.................

HH,

tabdog. You sure look sorry.............................................................................................................NOT!!!!!

Hook, line and sinker. Somebody took it all. Not just the bait!!

That wasn't very funny, I don't know all the different kind of metals, I thought it was a certain type, thanks a lot for making me look stupid.

Don't take it personal, we all bust each other around here. Nothing bad was intended, and no one thinks you look stupid. That's why we are here, cause no one knows it all. But sometimes things get a bit technical and boring, and a few jokes just pop out. Everyone here is pretty good and never really means to be offensive. Just wait, you'll see the bantering that goes around. But what goes around certainly comes back around. Usually whoever dishes it out, can take it too. It's all in fun and games. Hope this clears it up a bit.

cassiekarimom, Very sorry if you took it personal. Believe me, I got cought with the same joke a while ago and so I knew it. Nobody wants to offend anybody here. Really they do not. I am positive that tabdog meant nothing from it either.

I do believe it is a solid piece of copper like I said earlier.
