Took the T2 to my honey hole where I have found about 10 old 3 ringers with the Etrac over the last year and many old silver and copper coins. All I gotta say is this T2 loves to hit on that lead! Was an awesome day. I had a couple hours to kill while waiting on getting new tires on the car so I decided to see how the T2 will perform at this spot. It was a lakeside resort that operated between 1850s up to about 1915 that had a hotel, penny arcade, gun range, carousel, picnic areas and all kinds of other attractions as well as around 50 boat houses on the sides of the lake. Needless to say there is old iron and trash everywhere as well as modern trash as this is a popular summer location for hiking, hunting, camping, etc. Probably get 10 signals in one pass of the coil in most spots. The T2 impressed me very much with the stock coil. I can't wait to get a 5 inch dd for this location. Anyways I was in 2+ tones, ground balanced at 68-69, sensitivity 90, disc 0. Just listened for those smoother tones that the deeper signals have. Wasn't paying to much attention to vdi but I think they mostly came in around mid to high 70s. Most were 6-9 inches and a couple targets were deeper than my Garrett pp and that's not including the couple inches of trampled grass and pine needles so this puppy is no slouch on depth for sure but it's great at separation. It really hits on lead and copper great so I'm thinking it will really sniff out the gold jewellery too. This was only my third hunt with it. I believe I have about 10 hours on it so far. Yesterday hit a trashy area of a park I have absolutely pounded with Etrac and ATP. Scored 4 wheat cents and a big lead hem weight. Today I Got eight Minnie balls and a lone Indian head cent today in two hours and this was on the outskirts of the property. Never attempted to hunt around the stone foundations yet because there's an unreal amount of trash but I believe the T2 will be great once I get that smaller coil. Can't believe how great this detector performs for the price, it's definitely a keeper! Wanted to get a racer 2 which I'm sure is better in the trash but until I get a R2 this is gonna be my new main detector and I'm very excited to revisit some of my older permissions because that's the real test with a new detector, to see what areas it performs better than previous detectors and what it's strengths are.
