Today is the Golden Age of Driftwood on eBay

I have been writing about the Lost Art of Beachcombing on my Dumpdiggers blog and this morning I posted an article about the commoditization of driftwood - but I fear my work needs some more personal anecdotes...

Here I note that unusual pieces of driftwood are now commonly sold on eBay - marketed to exotic pet owners.

And I wondered if anyone here has ever collected some gorgeous items while out beach hunting?

Are there premium types of driftwood? maybe exotic woods on exotic beaches? or perhaps exotic woods on North American beaches? What driftwood stories are out there?

...the good Lord and his majestic natural creation. Nothing can come close to the soul of a beautiful driftwood creation!

Let's see some photos of your favorites and be sure and list where they came from. Treasure is in the eye of the looter!
