We are also getting a good steady rain today. A good ground soaking. I was hoping it would stay dry a little longer but such is not the case. At least it is not snowing.
Looking forward to hunting and talking about it.

Mike, you will love it. They talk to you. Lots of goodies will come your way. Keep us posted of how your early hunts go. Keep an eye on the sensitivity control. My headphone cord catches and moves it sometimes. You don't want it cranked way up. You probably will be happy around five. Let us know what you think.
Mike. Have had my 3d for a little over 3yrs. and have pulled over 100 pre 1900s coins out of 3 sites. A Chautauqua site 1900-1910, A campmeeting site 1866-1910, and an old fairground 1866-1905. I think you will really like how it brings the mid tone coins like half dimes, 2 cent pieces, older indians, and the older nickels into the high tone. Just remember its made for those pre-1950 sites and i think you will enjoy it. Swing the coil slow and low. Mike
A most excellent condition 1021 serial number unit with all the coils.
Right before supper I put it all together and did a quick dime air test with the stock coil and was getting 14". Wow! After supper I went back to it and was only getting 11" - 12" dime. Hmmm. What was the difference? Well, before supper I was waving the dime with the hand that wears a watch, and after supper I was waving the dime with the hand that doesn't wear a watch So hands that wear watches can create better air tests
Very, very pleased at this point. I'll spend some more time with it this weekend and check out the nickel settings and what not. Looks like a winner right now.
Learn the bobbing method and make sure sens. and volume are maxed out so you can hear the tonal difference. After a sens between 4-5 should give you a stable unit with max. depth and
Volume is your call so read the manual..10 all is loud...4 shallow loud, deep soft audio...Nasa Tom has an excellent article on the net so Google it and it will help. Above all swing slow for Max. depth and good luck.....
I thought you fed it supper too and it was just too fat and lazy to give you that amazing 14 inches on a dime. I guess your explanation makes more sense. I didn't know you had a 1021 coming. I am even more anxious now to know what you think about your new CZ. I have one of each, but not enough real hunt time on them to decide anything. I have found a ton of cool stuff with my later CZ but the 1021 will spank it on an air test. Please keep us posted.
It just doesn't get any better than a Fisher cz. My cz5 is my favorite deep coin detector and it will get the deep dimes on edge like nothing else I have used in the past. I do like the fact that the cz3d will bring alot of the odd coins into the high tone instead of the square tab range. Run the cz at zero disc and check signals at 90 degrees and you will dig less old deep square nails. Looking forward to seeing your finds with the 3d.
Mike, good luck with the CZ3d. I got some of the best advise in one of your post that help with my MDer purchase. I've been more than happy with my CZ5. I'm looking forward to your posts.
Congrats Mike. Its been raining good on the west coast. Was hoping to take the coinstrike out today after a long layoff. I just happen to have one of those numbered series 3d's on the way but it could be a week or longer cause of the holidays. Tried to register on Nasa Toms site but it wont let me
Happy hunting!
I will be looking forward to reading about your experiences with the 3d. I really like mine. I have been leaving other detectors in the closet since I got this 3d. Seems to be a very good and very deep machine. The machines I have been leaving in the closet might surprise you. Anyway, I am sure you will like it.
