Today I went for quality not quantity. I got half way there!

My last 3 trips have been to the ball fields. Plenty of coins and I was hoping for a ring. The ballparks are really busy on the week ends. I hit the old city park to see if I could find some older coins. I put the headphones around my neck, because all the hits was blowing my brains out. The park use to be a coal mines, but you would never know it. The place is beautiful with all the huge trees. The mines did a number on the soil. It is very mineralized and lots of hot rocks. Throw a ton of pull tabs in and you think your MDer went wacky. I found a 1955 quarter and a 1935 wheat. The wheat is in bad shape.

I found a 50 ft. length of copper wire in a wooded area. The old single lead wire was just under the soil. it looks like it has asbestos insulation on part of it. Before I found the wire I found this insulator. I didn't know they had electricity in 1607.

Here is my total minus the trash.

Man that fiddy five is nice. It's always a thrill to find silver. I've found a good amount of dimes but only one silver quarter.

You are my inspiration to keep pushing on to that higher goal.
What do you do with all of the US. coins you find? I have some Canadian coins that no one around here will take. Dimes, quarters and pennies just keep piling up.

Great pile of loot there John. I've tried that myself going for the good stuff and leave the rest behind but I'm always scared that I'll miss something. You never know what you didn't dig if you didn't...ehehe. And yes!!! That's a fantastic looking '55 you found!!

Coil that wire, bro. Copper goes for insane salvage prices these days. It's found money. 50 ft oughta get you beer money.

I know David. I have a 5 gal. bucket I put all my copper into. In FL. I would go to where they tore down old houses and graded everything smooth. MDing I would find sticks of copper in the ground, copper grounding rods(which is hard to pull out of the ground) and lots of fittings. Anytime I find a piece of copper, it goes into my bucket. Last year I sold over $700 worth of copper. I don't post my copper finds. They are too big ugly and dirty. It's nothing special anyway. That ACE is a copper magnet.
