well the $250 ring paid for it on my second hunt:rofl:
Only if yo usell it. Coins are real $$ in the bank.
ok, you got a point, I'm gonna keep the ring.
I keep all my finds, I just don't need the money form them yet. Maybe when I retire. I spend the clad on coins I want. I think I will save for a 1350. I just hit $300 csh saved when I turned in the contest jar.

A man with goals and benchmarks! Thats a man after my own heart.

The coins can add up and as A-man says, that is fair money. Jewelry is fiscally meaningless until you sell it. But it does give you some killer bragging rights!

By now, I have scavenged several thousand of dollars of coinage from detecting, plus the other "intangible benefits":

Exercise
Occupation for the Mind
Fresh Air
Absorbing interest.

You're on the right track.

Here's what I found last year. If you keep your goals small and reasonable you can hit a goal practically every couple of weeks. It really keeps me motivated. MY goals are every 1000 coins and every 100 bucks. When I hit the $800 mark in October 2007 I didn't think I would hit $1000. Finished up at $1063.12. That is without a gold ring too!

Make you next goal $50.00 and I'm sure you're coming up on 1000 coins too.

Good luck!

Chris
