Hasn't that been around since 2001 or something like that?

I cannot find an underwater digital camera that shoots as good. My Canon crud, Powershot A620 suffers like all the other Canon models. It only produces 180dpi. I hate it but I can't find one better... at least for underwater digital!

Maybe I need to go over to Nikon.

To Buy nikon d100 or d200 with awesome 17-200mm lens and just buy underwater housing for it. Easy...

The Digital/SLR housings are too expensive- some are well over $1,000! Plus they're just too big to lug around in the surf.

I'm just waiting for the right camera... small and versatile with the simple ability to take a half decent picture. Olypus has a nice SLR half the size as the D100 and it has a neat underwater housing. Of course, it's all over $2,000.

Here is the D100 in a housing! Look at that! HUGE!

I bought one and love it, Pentax WPi, 6 mega pix, large viewing screen, very long lasting battery, several hundred pictures on one charge and compact enough to put in your pocket or wear around your neck. I have a Canon Digital Rebel SLR, but don't dare take it near the water!!

But the point I was trying to make is that the camera is very convenient for the beach and water for a low priced camera that takes great pictures. I always like to crop my pictures before resizing to produce a clearer picture. But you can't beat a SLR for quality pic's. This is just a little "just for fun" camera, anything serious I break out the heavy artillery.

It was confusing. It sounded like "resolution" and PPI/DPI were related. So before it turned into a debate I just deleted it!

Yeah, the big guns will work! I really like the clear pictures produced from an SLR. I only wish I could get half the resolution!

You'll like this...

My idea of a perfect point and shoot...

12 "Effective" Megapixels
RAW file option (For those "Unit" shots!)
Quad card slots (Up to 4Gb storage)
Fully Manual or Auto plus 20 programs
2 inch adjutable LCD
Hot shoe
AA Batteries or external
Fixed Lense
40x Zoom
Super Macro
Snap-on lense filters
Fits in pocket
One button Video Record without changing modes
Underwater Housing option "WITH MICROPHONE"

800x600
Pentax Optio WPi

I need a fairly good macro to show damages to my vendors. This little camera does just fine
