Today and yesterday's finds...

Hi guys, I went back to the same place I found the live round 2 days ago. I didn't find any more ammo, (apart from a spent shell) but I did find a carabiner, and 2 old coins. One was a 1941 half penny, the other was a ten pence coin, about 1985. It was a weird hunt, the beach was sand and clay, I found about 40 targets, all of them rubbish, bits off the boats, brass screws, washers, battery leads, and loads of brass bottoms to light bulbs. I thought the area looked like it could be good, but it wasn't to be... So glad I have a pro pointer, it was impossible to spot some of the small washers.
I went to another beach today, and found a1940 one penny coin, (in the soft sand at the top of the beach??)

What is it with that place? I could understand the bottoms of light bulbs and light weight crap if it was a cove that caught the prevailing winds...OK, so brass boat screws and all sorts of junk could mean it was some sort of working fishermans beach? What do you think?

Yeah, it has got boats moored there, it is weird that the old coins are so close to the surface. I heard a gold coin was found there a couple years ago. I'm going to keep searching that area, there must be gold and rings if there are old coins mixed in with modern stuff near the surface. I've found old coins (1920) in the soft sand up at the top of the beach. Twice this last week. How does that happen Mud? You ever find weird stuff like that?

That is one of those spots where patience can really pay off. Lots if trash to sort through but that often hides some nice old finds. Keep at it, I'll look forward to your finds.
