[/img] Went out to the fairgrounds today first signal 1934 quarter 12.45 5 inches deep then i got a choppy signal at 3 inches 12.26 to 12.43 very unstable had to dig see what it was 4 inch nail and a 1944s merc the nail was laying right on the dime.1hour later got a 12.43 at 4 inches 62 Canadian dime cool.Move to a different spot got a 12.32 at 7 inches Indian 18 something 5 feet away 12.35 at 7 inches 1905 Indian about 20 feet farther 12.44 another pair of sterling wings does anybody know what these are for. Got a neat wheat penny with a clasp around it then at 5 inches a 12.44 a real nice sterling ring.Still waiting on the 6 inch coil.
 
Looks like the fairgrounds and the 3030 are producing some good finds. congrats on the good recoveries.

Super nice finds. Those wings are US Air Force Pilot wings. There are 3 different levels of wings. Newest pilot gets wings with no star. I believe as they gain experience, flight time and qualifications they receive the star above the wings. Fully qualified pilots get a wreath around the star.

Nice finds again from that fairground - those are sterling pilots wings - ww2 era (army air forces)
